            Fornæs
                    The Company Fornæs ApS
Fornæs ApS was founded in 1992 and has since scrapped well over 2,000 ships and vessels – we lost count somewhere along the way. The majority have been fishing vessels of various sizes, but our portfolio also includes freighters, supply vessels, ferries, and even a military vessel. Most of our vessels come from Scandinavia and the UK.
Shipbreaking and the environment
Shipbreaking and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive.
Fornæs holds all necessary environmental approvals for scrapping ships and handling toxic waste from them. All metals are recycled, and waste is treated or disposed of in full compliance with environmental legislation.
Our stock
We currently have more than 80,000 m² of outdoor stockyard and approximately 15,000 m² in warehouses. If you plan to visit us and take a look at the goods, which you are very welcome to do, please keep in mind that it takes quite some time to go through everything.
We purchase
We constantly purchase ships and vessels for demolition, so if you wish to have a vessel (or more) scrapped, please feel free to contact us. You will find all contact details under “Contact”.
When we make an offer for a ship, we do not only pay by the tonnage. The type, age, and number of machinery and equipment onboard are also taken into consideration. Occasionally, we also purchase used equipment, so you are welcome to contact us if you have items you would like to sell.

                    We sell
We sell just about any kind of equipment you can place onboard a vessel. We maintain lists of many items, but it is impossible to list everything. You can find our updated lists under “Marine Equipment”. If you are looking for something not listed there, please send us an email, fax, or call us – we might have it anyway.
The internet
The internet has become an important tool for finding information about companies. It is much easier to locate the items you need, even in foreign countries. This, of course, applies to Fornæs as well. Over the years, our exports have grown to account for approximately three-quarters of our trade.
Many new international customers have discovered us online. This motivates us to make these pages as informative, useful, and user-friendly as possible.
If your experience is otherwise, or if you find information missing, or if there is anything you would like to tell us, please drop us an email. We are always open to good ideas and constructive feedback.
